We are thrilled to announce we have recently received a gold medal for one of our premium sparkling wines. Our new release Reserve Tasmania Blanc De Blanc was awarded 95 points and took home a gold medal at the 2021 Australian Sparkling Wine Show, on December 13, 2021.

First held in 2010, the Australian Sparkling Wine Show (ASWS) is the only dedicated sparkling wine show in Australia. Originally known as the Marysville Sparkling Wine Festival, a group of locals – many of whom had their lives severely impacted by the Black Saturday fires – agreed to come on together to help make the show a success. Since then, the ASWS has continued to grow and in 2013, it became the Australian Sparkling Wine Show (ASWS), highlighting its national significance.

Our Method Champenoise (or traditional bottle fermented) Blanc de Blanc has been made from pristine Chardonnay fruit selected from northern Tasmania. Renowned for producing quality sparkling wines with naturally high acidity and delicate ripeness, the hand-picked Chardonnay grapes were whole-bunch pressed and the free-run juice was fermented long and cool. The base wine was put through full malolactic fermentation to achieve balance and weight. The wine was tiraged at the start of 2020, then disgorged in March of 2021.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with this gold medal win. This sparkling is incredibly refined and elegant with soft, dancing bubbles. We’re very proud of it,” says winemaker Anthony Murphy. The wine displays a tangy lemon, lime and brioche nose echoes to the palate with delicate crunchy green apple, almond meal and subtle yeast flavours and a long, full finish.

Our Reserve range has recently enjoyed a make-over which has been well-received. The Reserve range continues to epitomise the very best varieties the featured regions have to offer. The entire collection including the Tasmania Blanc de Blanc is available for purchase now from our online shop and Cellar Door.
