We are delighted to announced that Sydney's Government House selected Trentham Estate's The Family Vermentino 2019 as a wine of choice for its official events during 2020. This is a great honour for our winery and it proves that our award-winning wine truly is one of the best in Australia.

So, how did Government House discover The Family Vermentino? Here's a little background.

Government House is the official residence of the 39th Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC. It's also where she hosts special events and conducts official business. Her Excellency is passionate about supporting wineries across NSW and committed to exclusively serving NSW wines at official events.

As a Gold Medal winner at the recent 2019 Melbourne Wine Awards, the 2019 Vermentino was put forward to Government House Sydney. After a rigorous wine tasting process, the experts chose our Vermentino as a standout wine fit to serve at some of Australia’s most important official events, and we couldn't be prouder! Our wine will now be served to Australian and international guests including heads of state, royalty, spiritual leaders, ambassadors, foreign ministers, and Consular Corps members to enjoy when they visit Government House for Vice Regal events.

It's been a great 12 months for the Vermentino, it has also won Blue-Gold & TOP 100 at the 2019 Sydney International Wine Competition. Our Vermentino is known as a lively, fresh wine with a stunningly delicate aroma. It's the perfect pre-dinner drink, which makes it ideal for official events and State visits to Government House.
