Cellar Reserve 2021 Verdejo

90 Points

Yet another convincing example of a new variety to the Murray Darling, destined for big things. Youthful green-yellow hue with a delightful bunch of spring flowers and honeysuckle-led perfume, with citrus and spice. The palate is crisp and even, nicely fleshed out through the middle with a bright acid crunch.

Reserve 2018 Heathcote Shiraz

90 Points

Exudes Heathcote ripeness and signature red fruits, blueberries and plummy fruits running long over a supple palate. Fine spices, licorice and chocolate mix with a well-placed layer of toasty oak on the palate, bringing everything together rather nicely.

Reserve 2015 Noble Taminga

90 Points   **Special Value**

Trentham Estate has been a firm believer in the taminga grape, created for Australian conditions by the CSIRO, with one parent being gewürztraminer. Gewürz certainly pops its floral and spicy head up in this botrytised sweetie, with its distinctly lantana, potpourri florals and lychee lifted aromatics. Honeyed spice and ginger play on the sweet palate, which is nicely balanced by crisp acidity.

Reserve 2019 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

88 Points

Not readily revealing its Coonawarra origins, but nevertheless bright and approachable, this is a well-composed young Coonawarra cabernet. A solid core of black cherry, blackberry, spice, dusty earth and taut tannins offers up good drinking now.

Estate Grown 2020 Shiraz

88 Points

A ripe, all-round style that offers straight-up approachability and freshness. With a scent of plums, black fruits and light oak spice, it moves into a medium-bodied, fruit-forward palate hosted by smooth tannins. For immediate enjoyment.

Estate Grown 2021 Chardonnay

87 Points

A well-priced young chardonnay that quite rightly celebrates the fruit, which is nicely balanced between citrus, nectarine, melon and some pretty zippy acidity. Packs a lot of flavour into a tiny price.

The Family 2022 Frizzante Maestri

87 Points

Maestri is an Italian-style fizzy red with some sherbety sweetness, reminiscent of a liquid cherry bon-bon. Those with a sweet tooth will love the cherry, plum and confection flavour intensity that fills the mouth with a boiled-lolly sweetness. Fresh acidity keeps things clean and bright.
