We have a new friendly face here at Trentham! Welcome to Rebecca Marshall as General Manager – Cellar Door & Restaurant.

A country girl originally, Rebecca brings with her a wealth of experience and we are so excited to have her on-board to guide Trentham into the future. We asked Rebecca a few questions to get to know our new manager a little better.

Tell us a bit about yourself: I completed a Wine Marketing degree at Adelaide University after leaving school. I then worked in a few cellar doors in South Australia - Fox Creek, Hillstowe - and then went on to pursue a career in events where I became the Wedding Coordinator at Hyatt Regency Adelaide. I worked my way up to Catering Manager and stayed with the company for four years, at which point I was transferred to Grand Hyatt Melbourne where I worked for another six years and finished up as Director of Events, managing a team of staff who looked after all the conferences, events and accommodation groups that came to the hotel. The highlight of my time was managing a visit by Hillary Clinton. At the beginning of this year I decided I needed a 'tree change' and that I would move to Wentworth NSW, where I have a number of friends, and was very honoured to be offered this role at Trentham. So after six weeks, there is no looking back!

In your new role at Trentham, what are you most looking forward to? I would love to see Trentham become the number one destination point for visitors to the region, and in addition, create an environment that locals want to come to regularly. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful venue in beautiful surroundings where there is so much potential for wonderful, different and unique events, or just enjoying a relaxing afternoon along the banks of the river!

What do you enjoy drinking? I love 'bubbles' – no need to wait for a celebration! Otherwise, white wine is my go-to. I love the Estate Pinot Gris and the Reserve Chardonnay, but in saying that the Nebbiolo is another favourite!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Rowing! When I am not at work, I am training with the Wentworth Rowing Club or as a club we are away competing in regattas. I also love gardening, DIY and cooking.
